Snipster
Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This explains what Snipster collects, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your data or your videos, and we don’t use your content to advertise to you.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
- Your content: videos and audio you upload or link, the transcripts we generate, the clips and settings you create, exports, and any background clips, music, images and voiceovers you add. For Insights: analytics screenshots, PDFs or CSV files and the values extracted from them.
- Usage: plan, monthly usage counters, job status and errors, and product events (for example “clip exported”) so we can run limits, fix problems and improve the product. Logs avoid secrets and file contents.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We receive your plan and subscription status, and a customer ID. We never see or store your card number.
- Technical: IP address and browser details used for security and rate limiting.
How we use it
To provide the service you asked for (transcribe, rank moments, render clips, generate voiceovers, read analytics), to bill you, to keep the service secure and fair, to send service emails (confirmation, receipts, and the weekly recap only if you turn it on), and to improve reliability. We do not train AI models on your videos.
Who processes it for us
We use these providers, only as needed to run Snipster:
- Supabase: database, authentication and private file storage.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Fly.io: the servers that process and render video.
- OpenAI: speech-to-text for your audio and text-to-speech for voiceovers. Audio and the text you submit are sent to OpenAI.
- Anthropic: reading analytics screenshots and drafting scripts (Insights features).
- Stripe: payments. Resend (if enabled): email delivery.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Exports: deleted after your plan’s retention (Free 3 days, Creator 14, Pro 30, Studio 60). The history record remains without the files.
- Projects (source video, transcript, clips): removed after about 30 days without activity; failed projects after 7 days; uploads that never finish after 24 hours.
- Insights uploads: raw files are deleted about 14 days after analysis completes; extracted values you confirmed are kept until you delete them.
- Account and billing records: kept while your account exists, and billing records for as long as tax and accounting law require.
Your choices and rights
In Settings you can export your data and permanently delete your account, which removes your projects, files and records and cancels any active subscription. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to access, correct, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact us at our contact page and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Security
Files are stored privately and are reachable only by you through short-lived links. Every request is checked against your account, and access between accounts is isolated and tested. No system is perfectly secure; tell us promptly if you notice a problem.
Children
Snipster is not for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember simple preferences. If you arrive through a friend’s invite link or a campaign link, we remember which one for 30 days (a first-party cookie) so we can credit the friend when you sign up and see which channels work. We don’t use advertising cookies or sell this information.
Shared clips
If you choose “Share link” on an export, anyone with that link can watch that one clip until you stop sharing or the export expires. Nothing is shared unless you turn it on.
Changes
We’ll post updates here and tell you in the app or by email if a change is material.
